Educational Programs

 Welcome to Environmental Education!

Arrange free Environmental Education presentations for your classroom, club, or community group. Presentations can be in-classroom, virtual, or on-site. Call 812-349-2866 or email Elisa Pokral, our Community Outreach Coordinator. Sessions meet state standards. Some sessions have been published by IGI Global.

The District’s free environmental education educates, motivates, and inspires Indiana residents to conserve natural resources and meet the needs of our society while maintaining a healthy environment now and in the future. Activities integrate key environmental concepts that meet state standards. Sessions not only promote science but literacy, health and wellness, economics, social studies, family & consumer science, and more. Sessions stimulate students and the community to think critically about their own actions and assess the actions of others, foster understanding about the connections in the use of natural resources and waste disposal, and teach pollution prevention and behaviors that lead to healthy communities. Book early for the academic year.

We provide classroom presentations for students of all ages, from kindergarten to adult, on topics ranging from the basics such as reduce, reuse, and recycle to a variety of environmental stewardship topics associated with waste management, healthy people, and healthy ecosystems.
